As Veterans Day approaches, I was wondering if there are any '61 classmates listed on
'The Wall'. There are more than 58,000 names listed, and more than 3000 from Ohio. I made two deployments there in '65 and '66. I was an enlisted member of an 11 man flight crew aboard a Navy patrol flying boat.

Jim,

Thanks for your service as well as all others who have served this nation.  My data base has the list of 103 classmates who are deceased.(out of 366).  None were as a result of the Vietnam War.

VASJ may have a list of those alumni/alumnae who are listed.  There is a mass at the school on Monday, 11/11/19 for those who have served.  If anyone wished to attend, you may.

Frank

I was in the Army during the Viet Nam War,but I was in
Germany for two years. I know there was several classmates
that served in Viet Nam, but I don't recall that any were a
casualty. Happy Veterans Day to all veterans of the class
of 1961.

Like Bill, I was one of the more fortunate ones. I was in the Army from 66-68, but stationed in Korea for thirteen months instead of Vietnam. I am not aware of any classmate who died in Vietnam, but I do know that Steve Emser died of cancer related to his exposure to agent orange while in Vietnam. He passed away shortly after our 50th reunion.
God bless all those who have served and are currently serving in the military to help safeguard our great country.

I know that Frank Erne was wounded in Vietnam. He talked about the event at our 40th reunion. He did not make it to the 50th, and we have lost contact with him.
