There were still quite a few of us available at the twentieth class reunion. Â If you have any photos from those days, we would love to see them! Â Pictured here is the souvenir we received at that 20th reunion, an ashtray! Â How many of us still have and use ashtrays?
Bill Banach found the Memory Book from this 1986 reunion, so we have posted it here. Â There are only two other photos so far. Â Please share your photos of this event. Â Contact Dave Pfriem: pfriem@sbcglobal.net.
This is the group about to go on a trip to Chicago for the 35th Class Reunion. Â This photo, with the men identified, can be seen below. If you have photos or souvenirs of this reunion, please contact Dave Pfriem: pfriem@sbcglobal.net.
It's too bad we don't have more photos from the 40-year reunion. Â We had a wonderful time on those two nights, though! If you have more photos of this reunion, please contact Dave Pfriem: pfriem@sbcglobal.net.
This is a gallery updated in 2012 with lots of new photos not seen in 2011. Â We made it! Â We enjoyed a terrific two days of reunion for the men of the class of 1961 and their loyal Viking spouses. Â This photo gallery is for Friday night's (Stag Night) photo treasures. Â We will add more pictures as they come in. Â Send us your photos. Â Thanks to Bob Cozart, Bob Marn, Ron Pehmoeller, Tim Rya...
The date is October 7, 2011. The place is our old stomping grounds, now called Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, but it will always be St. Joe's to us. The opening photos demonstrate how we came to those two large-group pictures of grads of 1961. Â Many thanks to Tim Ryan who gave us free professional photography on both reunion nights. Â There were several pro photo companies th...
Father Jerry Chinchar and Father Jim Heft of our class celebrated a Mass of Remembrance, along with former teacher Father Philip Eichner, for our classmates who have preceded us in death.
Barbara Vincent, spouse of our late classmate Jim Vincent, and Father Jim Heft symbolize the memories, the effort, and the joy of our years together at St. Joe's. Â Here they pose for the camera on Saturday night, October 8, 2011. Â What a memorable night it was for all of us! Â And didn't we clean up pretty nicely?
Our own Coach K gives the Class of 1961 a preview of the 2016-2017 Viking basketball season. What a great evening 40 Vikes had at the old school together that night!
We had a memorable senior year and a number of memorable faculty members! Â All of the faculty and administrators are pictured. Â Comments and stories about these people, who contributed so much to our education and development, are welcome.

Here is a story told by one of our best all-round athletes, Jerry Rich. Â Jerry worked to excel in football and in track, but he always admired and respected the talents of his fellow athletes and resented those who abused their talent.
This photo shows the Vikings who were able to have lunch with Bob and his wife on August 16, 2011. Â The gallery below gives us some close-ups of our classmates who were at the lunch with Bob.

1961 Vikings at Marie's Restaurant, April 5, 2016. Can you guess everyone's name? Review photos below to get the names of those who attended and to identify the men in the pictures.
More than thirty Class of 1961 Vikes got together at Kristy's (the old Tracy Tavern) in Euclid on June 7, 2012. Â We had a great time, a mini reunion with five men who were not able to make the October 7 and 8 reunion, and heard from VASJ President Rich Osborne. Â Can you review the group shot (last photo in the gallery), and name the five new Vikings?
This gallery includes a photos of Coach's last trip to the school in his funeral procesion and his death notice. Â Coach Bill Gutbrod passed away in November of 2012. Â More text explaining the photos can be found in the gallery 'Look at Us Now.'

Click on this gallery as a slide show and watch the school become a reality, starting as a near-vacant lot on Lake Shore Boulevard near 185th Street. Â We've even got an old photo and a story about what was there BEFORE the school was built!
Here is a look at Viking literary output in 1961. Â Most of the contributions are from our guys, the Class of 1961, but you might recognize a few junior and sophomore names of the day, as well. Â There are also several contributions from men who have passed away. Â Their thoughts from then are all the more poignant to us now.
...For us they can remain forever young. Â Please celebrate a respectful memory of any of our classmates who have passed away. Â These can be historical, sentimental, or humorous. Â Send your reminiscence or story to David Pfriem: pfriem@sbcglobal.net. Â We will publish your memories under the picture of our deceased classmate.
We're getting older, but we're proud of it! Yes, like it or not, we're all getting a little grayer, gaining a few more wrinkles, carrying a few extra pounds, and a few fewer hairs on our heads. Â Share recent pictures of yourselves or with your families. Â This site lets you upload photos yourself. Â If you have trouble, contact Dave Pfriem: pfriem@sbcglobal.net or call Dave at (216) 496-4066.
Viking classmates are going up in their attics, dusting off their scrapbooks and sharing photos from yesteryear. Help document the candid parts of our class past by posting your old photos, personal and historic.
Twenty-three of our Class of 1961 guys made it to the Beach Club Bistro on December 6 for some great conversation and great food. We all know that Harry Waldron was there, but he did not appear in any photos. Is Harry shy, or has he become invisible? All the photos were taken by either Tim Ryan or Dave Pfriem.
This little gem of an 'extra' literary magazine appeared only in 1960, as far as I can tell. Â It was put together as a supplement to the Norseman school newspaper because we had so many great writers in our school. Â Senior Tom Adler (SJ Class of 1960) edited the first issue, and many of our classmates contributed, as you can see. Â Jerry Pockar edited the second issue. Â Thanks to Jerry, we h...
There never was a season like this one before or since. Â Re-live the season with descriptions from Tim Hudak's book 'Storming the Erie Shores,' with pictures from our own collections and yearbook, and even with a personal story from one of the stars of the day.
Our school newspaper was 'The Norseman.' Â I couldn't upload everything from the few issues we found, but there are some representative articles from our class.
The Viking basketball team did not quite win the Division III title in 2016, Â but they gave it a run for the money and gave us all a lot of thrills in the process. Here are some pictures from Ernie Woyma and Tim Ryan from the regional playoffs in Canton and the semifinals and finals in Columbus.
You'll see some classmates in the final couple of photos.
Our class has had success in a number of areas. Â Here are some books written by your classmates. Â If you would like to obtain a copy of a particular book, please check the author's name in 'Contact Classmates' and ask how you can get your own (autographed, we hope) copies of your classmates' books. Â We will also ask the men to bring some copies with them to the October reunion.
Ours was a class with talent in so many areas. Â Not many of us knew about it at the time, but let's give credit to our Cleveland City Champion Chess Team! Â Way to go, Vikes!
Our guys graduated just in time to face the conflict in Viet Nam. Â Many of them accepted the call and served proudly. Â The photos below are of those who have told us about their service. Â Sometimes they added stories that are worth our while to read. Â If you know about any classmates who served in the military, especially if you have a photo to share, please let us know. Â We'd love to post...
Here are some 1961 Vikes who got together for a luncheon at Kristy's Tavern in Euclid on November 12, 2012. The same photo with each Viking identified, can be found in the gallery called 'Look at us Now.'
Welcome to our electronic class yearbook. We hope you enjoy browsing these pages. Â We thought we would lead our yearbook section with the statue of St. Joseph the Worker, the patron of our school from 1950 to its merger with Villa Angela in 1990. Â Apologies for the pages that got out of order.
