Chauby Joseph. Classmate Bill Banach has these memories of Joseph: 'Really sorry to hear about the passing Of Joe Chauby. We were in a lot of classes together at St. Joe's. After school he worked at the Shell Gas Station at East 260 and Euclid ( It is still a Shell Station at that location) I would visit him at the station occasionally.
He came to most of the reunions at some luncheons. Really a good guy.

Obit: JOSEPH S. CHAUBY age 81, beloved husband of the late Magdalena “Lenka” (nee Lah); loving father of Michael (wife Jennifer) and Joseph M.; devoted grandfather of Matthew, Michael (wife Cayley) and Marcus; cherished son of the late Joseph and Isabella (nee Cherney); dearest brother of Betty Griffin (husband Kenny deceased), Clarissa “Clare” Roubos (husband Ernie deceased) and the late Isabella Laude (husband Walter deceased); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

Joseph was born February 15, 1943 in Sagamore, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1961 from St. Joseph High School. He devoted many years to Dominion Gas as an engineering technician and served as a mentor to others in his field. This outgoing sports fanatic coached baseball, followed the Indians and Browns closely, and was always there cheering at his grandson’s sporting events. Always social and helpful, he belonged to Slovenska Pristava Pensioners and enjoyed other volunteer opportunities. Joseph was highly devoted to his faith and family. It was often that he could be found dancing with his wife to the tunes of Elvis and Tom Jones. This well-loved and caring husband, father and grandfather passed away on August 1, 2024, leaving his family to forever miss his warm smile.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joseph to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org .
