Roger Sustar engineered the honor of throwing out the first ball to Dave Pfriem, affectionately known as 'Old Rotten-Arm' to his friends.  The rest of the Vikes threatened not to let Dave back into the suite if he bounced the ball.  His ball was clocked, according to Sustar, at fourteen-and-a-half-miles-per-hour, but it didn't bounce, and Dave was allowed back into the suite to greet his adoring fans.
