Daily, Jack. Jack passed away in the spring of 2015. We have this sweet remembrance from classmate Bob Ross:

'Jack was my best friend in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. We never ceased being friends, but during our Viking years we developed much larger circles of buddies.

Jack, as many of you know, was an outstanding athlete. In grade school (St. William's in Euclid), Jack was a running back. In one game, against Holy Cross I believe, Jack was running up the middle. One of the other team's linebackers grabbed his legs, but Jack kept churning and churning, so much so that his pants came down before he went down!

Another memory I have is playing basketball with him in his back yard. His parents were away at the time and asked him to take good care of a very expensive canary that their friends had left with them. Jack took me inside to see this bird. He opened the cage so that I could have a good look, and suddenly, the bird flew out of its cage and out the kitchen window never to be seen again.

Jack and I would ride bicycles together, play chip 'n putt golf,  talk about everything teen boys talk about including sports and girls, walk home from school together, play whiffle ball in front of my house, go to movies, etc., etc., etc.

When I learned that Jack had died, I was shocked. I continue to remember him, along with my family and loved ones in my prayers everyday. My sister told me I could pray TO Jack, not just FOR him, and so I do. Rest in peace, my dear friend.'


Bill Banach remembers kidding around with Jack in high school about who was the better basketball player.
