Trojanski, John. Â 'We were in many classes together,' remembers Dave Pfriem. Â 'John wasn't very athletic, but he was a brilliant writer and an excellent musician. Â After graduation we both entered the Society of Mary and became Brothers in the order. Â John had the distinction of having a poem published in 'Poetry Magazine' in 1965, while he was still in college, joining other poets like Robert Frost. Â John continued his excellent musical work, contributing many pieces to the new liturgy. Â We left the order about the same time. Â John wrote the mass that was sung by several Brothers in Cleveland at St. Williams Parish at my wedding to Donna Yerman in August of 1969. Â He went on to contribute to literary books, publish, promote films, and write music. Â John had been a member of a prominent San Francisco choral group. He was creative, and flamboyant, to say the least. Â He died of AIDS in 1986. Rest in peace.'
