Vincent, Jim.  Harry Waldron left this admiring note about Jim: 'He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and coach.  He was one great guy and athlete - the fastest on the field and the first one to help his family and friends. Everyone was equal with Jimmy.  We started coaching together around 1995. Every young person he ever touched was at his funeral, and to this day they speak of Jimmy and how he touched each one of them.'

The Reverend Jerry Chinchar added this thought: 'I knew Jim Vincent from Holy Cross grade-school, thru SJHS, and into adulthood. Jim always had a welcoming presence and a positive upbeat spirit.  Even as he strength failed and he faced death at an early age from pancreatic cancer he remained positive and engaged with those around him.'

Pat Rooney also remembers Jim as 'A real jokester.'

Waldron added some specifics about their lives after St. Joe's: 'Jim and I coached 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders in BB @ St. John Vianney and inner city kids from St. Aloysius together for eight years. The 'Cleveland Plain Dealer Magazine' did a special on us in 1997, featuring Jim’s work along with the very gregarious coach of St. Aloysius Stan Thornton. and my own as a member of this group. We teamed up with those kids and helped bring them together for many years that have lasted in some cases after these black and white kids graduated from College. We attracted speakers at our annual get-togethers with the kids including: Elvis Grbac, Ted Ginn, Ronnie Duncan, Mike Moran and more.'
