Eppink, Don. Dave Pfriem remembers Don. 'We used to hang out, especially during our senior year when we both worked long hours on 'The Viking,' our yearbook. Don was a terrific editor and leader of the yearbook staff. We often tooled around in his '53 Plymouth of questionable safety. For example, the front seats weren't quite bolted down, so it was possible to be thrown backwards on a jerky acceleration, which happened all too often. Don was an irrepressible imp, always ready with a funny comment on our situation. In 1961 we entered the Society of Mary together and withdrew from it at about the same time. Just before I got married, I purchased a 1969 Camaro. Don liked it so much that he bought one, as well. We lost touch for a number of years, but regularly regained contact. Don was a very religious person and remained faithful to the Church to the end of his days. I will miss him. R.I.P.

From Bob Ross: Like so many, I am sad to learn of Don's death. I know that he suffered for several years with brain cancer and had several surgeries trying to bring him back to good health.

Though I certainly knew Don during our Viking years, I got to know him better later on.

His wife, Mary Ann (Lovick), was a neighbor of mine growing up in Euclid. She and her family lived just two doors down from my home. She was a few years younger than me, but we went to the same grade school (St. Williams).

Don and Mary Ann came to the special 50th anniversary lunch that Dave Pfriem  organized for me (living in Taiwan, I was unable to attend the October reunion that had been scheduled).

Days after this luncheon, my wife and I joined Don and Mary Ann for a wonderful dinner together. Pictures were taken of the four of us along with Mary Ann's younger sister Peggy.

I had been praying for Don and Mary Ann (since she too was recovering from cancer treatments) as well as Peggy (who is also ill) nearly everyday. These prayers will surely continue for Don, Mary Ann, Peggy and all of their loved ones.

May Don look down upon us from the mansion Jesus has prepared for him for all eternity.
