Farrell, Joseph.  Here are some memories of Joe from Ed Schober: 'I got to know Joe better after graduation. His older brother Dennis and I stayed in Cleveland and went to Fenn College. Denny and I were buddies. Joe was at the University of Dayton, but whenever he came home, his poor twin sister, Ann, was subjected to wild and unpredictable Sunday night rides back to the nurse’s dormitory at Saint Vincent Charity Hospital School of Nursing. Joe and Dennis were irrepressible clowns, and she never knew what pranks would emerge. The Farrell home on East 213th Street in Euclid was always open to all of the friends and freeloaders whom the Farrell boys brought home (myself included). I'm still in contact with Denny, who has moved to Milwaukee. Of course, everybody misses Joe, a great guy and a wonderful Viking booster.'
Bob Ross also remembers Joe: 'I believe all of us remember Joe's hilarious skits for our football and basketball teams' rallies. Â After we graduated from St. Joe's, Joe and I became roommates at UD. Our life styles were very different as Joe was a night owl and I was an early bird. Nonetheless, we got along well. Joe would tell a joke to some of our UD fellow students, and before he got to the punch line, I would burst out laughing. He enjoyed that and definitely kidded me about it.'
Pat Rooney adds this incident about one of Joe's practical jokes: 'Terry Malaney, Jim Vincent, and Joe Farrell were real jokesters. For example Joe Farrell loosened the set screws on the third floor drinking fountains. Thus you would turn the handle on the fountain and it would not come on. Not sure if this was on April 1st.'
Bob Ross adds this: 'I remember Joe saying that on the Sunday morning he left to go to UD, he accidentally took his father's dress shoes, leaving his father with only a pair of golf shoes to go to Mass. I also remember Joe being downtown in a car with his Dad. They were waiting at a stoplight when a pretty girl walked by. His Dad was in the driver's seat. When the girl walked by, Joe, sitting in the passenger's seat, whistled the whistle we give to pretty girls, then quickly ducked beneath the window. The girl turned only to see Joe's Dad with a very red face.'
Joe was a very good math student. I know he did extremely well as a teacher at St. Joe's, and also as a local politician. He was definitely a talker! May he rest in peace.'
Ed Schober contributes this remembrnce of Joe: 'Joe Farrell’s death was a terrible loss to all of us.  Joe was “Mr. SJHS!”  His older brother Dennis, a Euclid High School grad, was a good friend and “brother,” as the Farrell family “adopted” me (in a manner of speaking).'
