Miklavic, Ernie. Ernie passed away unexpectedly in July, 2017 after a relatively common surgical procedure. Ernie was a loyal Viking and participated in class activities and reunions. He had planned to participate in the 2017 golf outing, but had to back out because of the surgery. However, he said he would come to the event on July 24 and 'watch.' He had done the same thing the previous year and we all had a great time as Ernie poked fun of our hacking our way through the course.

Dave Pfriem remembers Ernie from our earliest days at St. Joe's--always upbeat, a good student, and a Viking backer.

Classmate Tom Fagan offers the family a classic poem/prayer which is added here:
God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you,
And whispered, 'Come to me.'
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away,
And though we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
