Coach Gutbrod honored at his last visit to Saint Joe's.  Tim Ryan captured this photo of Coach's hearse as it circled in front of the school after Tueday's Mass of Christian Burial (December 4, 2012).  VASJ's color guard, as well as the football players (in jerseys) and the basketball team (in blazers) stood at attention to honor Coach while the funeral procession circled on the front walk area of the school.  The funeral mass was celebrated by Bishop Roger Gries.  The eulogy was given by Coach's son Tim Gutbrod.  Hundreds of Vikings were in attendance.  VASJ hosted a luncheon after the burial at All Soul's Cemetary.  A number of former Viking players attended the funeral, including Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard.  VASJ arrangements were made by by school president Rich Osborne (SJ '69).
